The function
As a barista, you are the shining centerpiece of our café. You are someone who can effortlessly juggle ten things with a smile, and you want to immerse yourself in the world of coffee. But you're not just preparing coffee, you also rock behind the counter and in the café's living room. You see your colleagues as family, easily strike up conversations with guests, and have no problem testing out our specials.
If you're not busy pouring the most beautiful latte art or conjuring up delicious dishes from the kitchen, you're hanging proverbial streamers with your colleagues because together, you turn every workday into a celebration. Who are you?
You are an enthusiastic all-rounder who effortlessly switches between different tasks. You have experience in the hospitality industry or are eager to learn more about it. Your motto is "actions speak louder than words". Making coffee and serving customers behind the counter is what you enjoy most. You welcome guests with a radiant smile, making them feel right at home in the café. As a part-timer, you are available for at least one day on the weekend and one evening during weekdays, and willing to work an extra day (or two) during holidays. As a full-timer, you are available for a minimum of 32 hours, including one day on the weekend.
Who are we?
The Douwe Egberts Café is the coziest living room in Amsterdam. It's much more than just a place to have coffee and catch up with friends. As soon as you step foot inside, you feel right at home. You can chat with friendly staff, open a book to study, order your favorite dish, or relax in your favorite chair. It's all up to you because it's also your living room. Our baristas combine hard work with fun and hospitality, going above and beyond to make guests feel at home. Our cafés are open 365 days a year from 08:00 am to 10:00 pm.
